Here's a step-by-step guide to preparing a delicious Chicken Marsala with Creamy Mushroom Sauce:

# Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and thyme.

2. Coat each breast with flour, shaking off excess.

# Step 2: Sear the Chicken

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned.

3. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

# Step 3: Prepare the Marsala Sauce

1. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter.

2. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

# Step 4: Add Marsala Wine and Chicken Broth

1. Add the Marsala wine to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.

2. Bring the wine to a simmer and cook until reduced by half, about 2-3 minutes.

3. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

# Step 5: Finish with Heavy Cream and Thyme

1. Stir in the heavy cream and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.

2. Add the dried thyme and season with salt and pepper to taste.

# Step 6: Serve with Chicken

1. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon some of the Marsala sauce over the top of each breast.

2. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

3. Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
