Ingredients:

1 pound white fish fillets (e.g., cod, snapper, or tilapia)

2 tablespoons fresh ginger, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Juice of 1 lime

Zest of 1 lime

2 green onions, thinly sliced

1 red chili, thinly sliced (optional)

Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Prepare the Steaming Setup:

Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.

Place a steaming basket or rack over the pot.

Season the Fish:

Lightly season the fish fillets with salt and pepper.

Place the fillets on a heatproof plate that fits inside the steaming basket.

Add Aromatics:

Scatter the ginger slices and minced garlic evenly over the fish.

Prepare the Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and lime zest.

Pour this mixture evenly over the fish fillets.

Steam the Fish:

Carefully place the plate into the steaming basket. Cover the pot with a lid and steam for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Garnish and Serve:

Remove the plate carefully from the steamer.

Sprinkle the fish with green onions, red chili slices (if using), and fresh cilantro leaves.

Serve immediately with steamed rice or a side of fresh vegetables.
