Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- Optional: sliced green onions for garnish
Directions:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant. Add the bell pepper and continue to stir-fry for another 2 minutes. Return the beef to the skillet. In a small bowl, mix together the black pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, sugar, and salt. Pour this sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the flavors to meld. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
