A crispy, cinnamon-sweet treat – perfect for fall cravings!
Ingredients:
2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Oil for frying
For Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions:
Prepare the Apples:
Core the apples and slice them into 1/4-inch rings.
Pat the apple slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Prepare the Batter:
In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
Heat the Oil:
In a deep skillet, heat about 1-2 inches of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Apple Rings:
Dip each apple ring into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
Carefully place the apple rings in the hot oil, frying for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Remove the rings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Coat in Cinnamon Sugar:
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
While the apple rings are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
Serve:
Serve immediately and enjoy the crispy, sweet, and tangy treat!
