Charming and festive macarons stacked like Christmas trees, filled with creamy frosting, and decorated with fresh kiwi, red currants, and golden stars. These whimsical treats are sure to delight at any holiday gathering!

Ingredients

For the Macaron Shells:

100g of almond flour

100g of powdered sugar

75g of egg whites, at room temperature

100g of granulated sugar

Red and green food coloring

For the Filling:

1 cup of softened cream cheese

1/2 cup of powdered sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For the Toppings:

Kiwi slices, cut into small triangles

Red currants or raspberries

Small edible gold star decorations (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Macaron Shells

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar to remove any lumps.

In a separate mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while beating until stiff, glossy peaks form.

Gently fold the almond mixture into the egg whites in small increments, being careful not to deflate the batter.

Divide the batter into two bowls and color one batch red and the other green using food coloring. Mix until the colors are evenly distributed.

Transfer the batters to piping bags and pipe small circles of each color onto the prepared baking sheet.

Tap the baking sheet firmly on the counter to release air bubbles.

Let the piped shells rest for about 30 minutes, or until a skin forms on the surface.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through. Allow the shells to cool completely before handling.

Step 2: Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Assemble the Trees

Pair the red and green macaron shells by size. Pipe or spread the filling onto one shell and stack another shell on top.

Repeat the stacking, alternating red and green shells to create a tree-like shape.

Decorate the top of each tree with small kiwi slices, red currants, and an edible gold star if desired.
