Mediterranean Delight: Greek Chicken Gyros with Cucumber Tzatziki

Ingredients:


Chicken Marinade:


1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs

2 tablespoons olive oil

Juice of 1 lemon

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste


Tzatziki Sauce:


1 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon vinegar

Salt and pepper


Other:


4 pita breads

1/2 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced


Directions:


Marinate Chicken: Mix marinade ingredients. Coat chicken and marinate at least 1 hour.


Cook Chicken: Grill or pan-fry chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until cooked through. Slice into strips.


Make Tzatziki: Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl and chill.


Assemble Gyros: Warm pitas. Fill with chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce.


Notes:


Use naan bread if pita isn’t available.


Chicken can be air-fried for ease.
