# Ingredients
1. 4 medium potatoes (Russet or your preferred variety)
2. ¼ tsp salt
3. ⅛ tsp pepper
4. ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for some heat)
# Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Scrub the potatoes clean and dry them with a paper towel.
3. Slice the potatoes into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
4. In a large bowl, toss the sliced potatoes with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) until they're evenly coated.
5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer, leaving some space between each slice for even cooking.
6. Bake the potatoes for 20-25 minutes, or until they're tender and golden brown, flipping them halfway through.
7. Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
*Optional Variations*
1. *Garlic and Herbs*: Mix minced garlic and chopped fresh herbs (like rosemary, thyme, or parsley) into the potatoes before baking.
2. *Cheesy*: Sprinkle shredded cheese (like cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan) over the potatoes during the last 5-7 minutes of baking.
3. *Spicy*: Increase the amount of cayenne pepper or add some diced jalapeños to the potatoes for an extra kick.
Feel free to experiment with different seasonings and toppings to make the recipe your own!
