Swedish friends who also want to be able to easily make your own syrup for baking or making sweets like Knäck. And avoid paying expensive money to import syrup. Make your own. It's so easy! Here is the recipe: 500 grams of granulated sugar (about 2.5 cups) 150 ml of water (2/3 cups) 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Lemon is so that the sugar does not crystallize. Cook over low heat and stir occasionally. You will see when it changes color and turns light brown. Took about 20-25 minutes. Poured into a glass bottle and when it cooled down a bit I noticed how thick it was.
