Ingredients:
12 oz fettuccine pasta
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1-2 garlic cloves, minced (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Fettuccine:Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (usually about 8-10 minutes). Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Make the Alfredo Sauce:In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. If you're using garlic, add it to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes until it slightly thickens.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Toss the Pasta:Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the sauce. If needed, add more pasta water to help the sauce coat the pasta evenly.
Serve:Plate the fettuccine, garnish with fresh parsley, and enjoy!
This simple, creamy dish is a crowd-pleaser and perfect for any pasta lover!
