Sweet and Savory Grilled Korean Beef Ribs
𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
2 pounds beef short ribs, cut into individual pieces
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece of ginger, minced
1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon mirin (sweet rice wine)
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for grilling)
𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, gochujang, sesame seeds, mirin, and black pepper. Stir well to make the marinade.
Add the short ribs to the marinade, making sure they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or overnight for best results.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates with vegetable oil.
Grill the marinated ribs for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they develop a nice char and are cooked through.
Once the ribs are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with chopped green onions and extra sesame seeds before serving.
Serve with steamed rice and kimchi for an authentic Korean BBQ experience.
