Bold, Sweet, and Savory in Every Bite!
Ingredients:
For the Korean BBQ Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Wraps:
4 large flour tortillas (or lettuce leaves for a lighter option)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup cucumber, julienned
1/4 cup red cabbage, shredded (optional)
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
Prepare the marinade:
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, gochujang, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper.
Marinate the chicken:
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) to allow the flavors to infuse the chicken.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
Grill or pan-sear the chicken:
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Rest and slice the chicken:
Let the cooked chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
Step 3: Assemble the Wraps
Prepare the wraps:
Lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface. If using lettuce leaves, separate them and arrange them on a plate.
Fill the wraps:
In the center of each tortilla (or lettuce leaf), layer a generous amount of shredded lettuce, shredded carrots, julienned cucumber, and red cabbage (if using). Top with the sliced Korean BBQ chicken and sprinkle with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds for added flavor and crunch.
Step 4: Serve
Wrap and enjoy:
Fold the sides of the tortilla (or lettuce) inward and roll it up tightly to form a wrap. Slice in half, if desired, and serve immediately.
Why You’ll Love It:
Korean BBQ Chicken Wraps are a flavorful fusion of sweet, savory, and spicy elements. The tender chicken, marinated in a rich, tangy sauce, is perfectly complemented by the fresh, crunchy veggies, making each bite a delicious mix of textures and flavors. These wraps are perfect for a quick lunch, a casual dinner, or even a crowd-pleasing appetizer!
