Pickled Red Onions

Ingredients:


1 large red onion, thinly sliced

1/2 cup white vinegar

1/2 cup water

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp mustard seeds (optional)


Preparation:


In a bowl, combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, pepper, and mustard seeds (if using). Stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.

Place the thinly sliced onions in a jar or container.

Pour the vinegar mixture over the onions, making sure they are fully submerged.

Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours before serving. For best flavor, let them sit overnight. Enjoy!
