Sticky Szechuan Glazed Beef

Ingredients:


- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced (Can be made from a whole piece and then slice it down when ready )

- 2 tbsp vegetable oil

- 3 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 inch ginger, grated

- 1/4 cup soy sauce

- 1/4 cup honey

- 2 tbsp rice vinegar

- 1 tbsp Szechuan peppercorns, crushed

- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped

- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)


Directions:


In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, crushed Szechuan peppercorns, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Return the beef to the skillet, tossing to coat in the glaze. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the beef is heated through. Stir in chopped green onions just before serving. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a delicious meal!
